DO I NEED TO READ SHEET MUSIC?
No way. We break it down real nice and simple. All you need is a bit of courage and enthusiasm.
WHAT DOES IT COST?
$15.00 regular price.
$1o.00 if you get your tickets early.
We also have a bar, and they are always happy to take your money (and tips).
I’M NOT GOOD AT SINGING, SHOULD I STILL COME?
HECK YEAH! If you sing in the shower, car, the park, your head, or that one time in the 1st grade choir concert – you’re qualified. It’s going to be loud and wonderful, and quite frankly – you’re a whole lot better at singing than you’re giving yourself credit for.
WHO IS ORGANIZING ALL OF THIS?
The fine folks of Swell Spark, who think that shared experiences are just the best.
HOW DOES THIS WORK?
Just show up with a ticket! There’s no long-term commitment whatsoever. If you want to make sure you have a spot, get your ticket as soon as we announce our next date.
DO I NEED TO PREPARE?
Not at all. Just be sure to bring that big ol’ smile on your beautiful face, and a willingness to have fun! We’ll announce the (incredibly well-known) song in advance, just in case you want to give it a listen before coming. We will learn the song together as a big group with lyric sheets and instruction, which we will pass out at check-in. We won’t put anyone on the spot – you’ll never sing by yourself.
IS THERE AN AGE LIMIT?
Choir Bar events are generally for adults only. Our age policy is 18+ to attend and 21+ to drink. If you’re interested in a private event for younger folks – reach out and we’ll chat about an alcohol-free Choir Bar experience.
HOW OFTEN DO YOU HOST CHOIR BAR?
In the past, Choir Bar was a monthly pop-up event at various event spaces around Kansas City. We’re currently on hiatus, but still taking private event inquiries via email. Follow us on social media and be sure to subscribe to our emails to be the first to know about future public events.
